About the Book

Low level farmers income and year to year fluctuations in it are major source of agrarian distress. This distress is spreading and getting over time impacting almost half of the population of the country that is dependent on farming for livelihood. To secure future of agriculture and improve the livelihood of half of Indias population, adequate attention needs to be given to improve welfare of farmers and raise agriculture income. Doubling farmers income by 2022 is quite challenging but it is needed and is attainable. Three pronged strategy focused on 1. Development Initiatives 2. Technology 3. Policy reforms in Agriculture.
